Meritage Midstream has expanded the traditional definition of midstream to provide customers with comprehensive, all-in solutions and opportunities for growth. Core capabilities include the gathering, treating and handling of natural gas, crude oil and condensates. Value-added services include carbon dioxide sequestration and handling flowback and produced water. The company is focused on building strong, open relationships with customers and all of the constituents in the value chain.
Meritage Midstream's current operations are focused on the Eagle Ford shale and other production zones in southwest Texas. Meritage works with some of the most experienced and well-respected producers in the area to provide rapid and reliable access to multiple downstream markets. Meritage's Eagle Ford Escondido Gathering System (EEG) is located in Webb County and includes more than 100 miles of high pressure pipeline, two interconnects with the Kinder Morgan Texas pipeline and a centralized treating facility with both amine treating and dehydration capabilities. EEG has a current treating capacity of 145 mmcf/d.
Meritage’s primary growth strategy centers around building a natural gas midstream business focused on the grassroots development and acquisition of gathering, transportation, processing and treating assets. The management has specific experience developing midstream systems in resource plays, which will transfer into capturing attractive opportunities in emerging plays in several emerging basins. Management’s recognized expertise is throughout the Rocky Mountain region where large blocks of federal acreage, split estates and environmentally sensitive work areas demand a careful and strategic approach towards dealing with both state and federal land management agencies. However, management also plans to leverage its expertise to explore opportunities in developing resource plays such as the Eagle Ford Shale in south Texas and the Haynesville Shale in northern Louisiana.
Meritage's management team differentiates itself from the competition by providing a willingness to structure joint ventures with producers to align interests and by offering a bundled service solution that addresses natural gas, crude oil and produced water handling and treatment. Management has developed a history of building great working relationships with producers and will continue to use that ability to develop additional opportunities.
