Mr. Kurtz joined the firm as a managing director in 2014 and became a managing partner in 2016. He has more than 30 years of energy experience and extensive knowledge and expertise in both midstream and upstream, with significant strength in commercial transactions and acquisitions and divestitures.
From 2003 to 2013 David served as president and co-owner of Alpine, Inc., an exploration and production company focused on unconventional resource plays. While with Alpine, he was responsible for the acquisition and resource development of approximately 700,000 acres in the Delaware Basin and the Mid-Continent. From 1989 to 2002, prior to joining Alpine, David served in various commercial roles of increasing responsibility with Enogex Inc., an Oklahoma based midstream company and subsidiary of OGE Energy Corp. He ultimately served as Vice President of Business Development for OGE Energy Corp. where he was responsible for the successful acquisition and divestiture of numerous assets. From 1985 to 1989, David was with Delhi Pipeline Corporation holding various Engineering, Commercial, and Project Development positions.
David has a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from The University of Kansas and an M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University. Currently, David serves on the board of three EFM portfolio companies. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Brammo, Inc. and serves in an advisory role for CBA Pharma, Inc., two privately held companies.
